Using Messenger

How do I send a message?

There are several ways you can send a message:

  1. Just press ‘Chat’ under the photo of any user directly from the Search page. A Messenger window will then appear. Type your message in the appropriate field and either press ‘Enter’ on your keyboard or the ‘Send’ button in the bottom-right corner of the Messenger window.
  2. Press your avatar in the upper-right corner of any site page and choose ‘Messages’ from the drop-down menu. Choose the required user from the upper-left corner, type your message in the appropriate field, and either press ‘Enter’ on your keyboard or the ‘Send’ button in the bottom-right corner of the Messenger block.
  3. Go to the profile of the person you like and press the ‘Chat’ button. The Messenger window will appear. Type your message in the appropriate field and either press ‘Enter’ on your keyboard or the ‘Send’ button in the bottom-right corner of the Messenger window.

How many messages can I send?

With Full Membership you can send an unlimited number of messages to an unlimited number of users daily.

Free Membership has certain limits on messaging. You can send up to 5 messages a day to different users, and no more than 1 message to each user.

How long are my messages kept?

With Free Membership all unread messages are kept for 24 hours only. All read messages are kept in your history.

How do I know if my message has been read?

A double green checkmark in the Messenger window indicates that your message has been read. Please note that you can know that your message has been read only if you have activated a Chataholic Pack or Premium Dater feature.

How do I view incoming messages?

There are several ways you can view incoming messages:

  1. Press the ‘Read message’ button on the corresponding notification pop-up when it appears.
  2. Just press ‘Chat’ under the photo of any user directly from the Search page.
  3. Press your avatar in the upper-right corner of any site page and choose ‘Messages’ from the drop-down menu. Choose the required user from the upper-left corner to view incoming messages from them.

What are the message types?

Each message you receive can be of a certain type. To see which type of a message you received, press the information icon above the messaging area.
